Are there any licensing fees or royalties associated with using ASP.NET on a
production web site?

Thanks,
Steve

no
the only ones you have are those asspcoated with commercial third party
compoents - these licensing fess would be in the purchase price of the item
in question but no none associated witht he framework from MS.

The .NET redistributable is free and is all that's required to run .NET.
There are also free development tools that are pretty decent.    Unless you
plan on runnig .NET on mono, you'll need a windows machine of course :)
